Sitting pretty next to places like Indonesia, Matera and Hong Kong was our very own city – Pittsburgh. It was a list of places that National Geographic has deemed must-see places in 2019. The list was created to encourage travel in the new year -- so we were so excited to see Pittsburgh mentioned on the small list of only 19 cities.
National Geographic explained why Pittsburgh was chosen:
"While Pittsburgh is a blue-collar town at heart, it’s much more elegant than many visitors might expect," National Geographic said. "And there’s plenty for culture vultures, too."
The main reason Pittsburgh made the list was because of our museums – which are always such an amazing diversion for week nights or weekends. Specifically mentioned were the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, The Cathedral of Learning and the Heinz History Center. It was highlighted that a The Heinz History Center would be featuring an Apollo exhibit in 2019 and that visitors should definitely hit that up when traveling through.
As your preferred mover, we would love to help you make Pittsburgh your new home. We offer free, no obligation, in-home estimates and would love to help you transition to this city that we love so much.
