Making a move can be exhausting, and sometimes you just need to get the family out of the house for a bit and step away from the madness. If you’ve just relocated to the greater Pittsburgh area or are getting ready to, add these fall activities to your list.

Pick some apples and pumpkins at Simmons Farm. Just south of the city, this family farm has acres of apples and pumpkins. Kids can enjoy hayrides, mazes, and even a 100 ft. slide!

Fill up your pillowcase at Mt. Nebo Pointe Trunk or Treat. Whether you’re wanting a safe alternative for trick-or-treating for your kids or you just want some extra goodies, check out this Trunk or Treat event on October 25th at the Mt. Nebo Pointe Shopping Center.

Watch an indie film at the Three Rivers Film Festival. This two week celebration of movies features over 50 films, making it the biggest film festival in western Pennsylvania. Check it out from November 7th-22nd.

Take the ‘Burgh Bits and Bites Food Tour. Especially if you’re brand new to the Pittsburgh area, this tour will give you a taste (pun intended!) of what the ‘Burgh has to offer. And because it’s a walking tour, you’ll get to work off a few of those calories while you’re at it. Just be sure to bring the hooded sweatshirt!

Visit the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. If you’ve never been before, this place can keep your family busy all day long. Whether you’ve got a science lover or an artist, there’s something fun to do at this interactive museum.
