Our History
George Moving & Storage, a family owned and operated
business for over 30 years, has grown into one of the largest,
most successful moving and storage companies in Western
Pennsylvania. John E. George purchased the company from
Terry Woods, an agent for North American Van Lines on October
15, 1975.

While our company is proud of the distinguished awards
above, it is even more prestigious when one of our own employees
is individually recognized by a nationally recognized association.
In 2002, Fred Lowe, a member of our owner-operator
fleet, was named the American Moving and Storage (AMSA)
Super Van Operator of the Year (all van lines inclusive).
Fred was selected from thousands of employees from every
van line in the moving industry. The recipient must have
a perfect record in the categories of safety, accidents,
claims and customer service.
Fred received an all expense paid trip to the AMSA convention
in Orlando, Florida, and was honored at the awards dinner
and breakfast the next day. He received a specially designed
AMSA Super Van Operator ring and a leather bomber jacket
along with many other vendor-sponsored prizes.
Our Future
George Moving & Storage is located in Freedom, Pennsylvania,
in our new world class facility. The facility spans 15 acres
and 171,000 square feet of warehouse, office and fleet maintenance.
Our warehouse is climate-controlled, sprinkler system-equipped
and extremely secure with our 24-hour surveillance system.
